I will answer that question – Technology research will always stay relevant because not all energy saving are covered by the scope of the ENERGY STAR program or ENERGY STAR simply covered types of equipment yet. Good examples of these are programs and UPS efficiency incentives. Developing programs based on ENERGY STAR specifications is only one area where utilities can maximize their return on investment through pooling resources and collaboration.

I am not an active in the current budget debate and although I abhor it, I am not even 100% sure that should be illegal. I am however active duty military and a mother, and though I know that the logic is faulty, I would like to say that if by not receiving a pay check for several weeks, I could save the life of one unborn child, I would gladly go without pay. Maybe it is my fault that I could not understand the high funda telugu used in the first 30 minutes of the movie. Maybe its my fault that I did not know the 10 avatars of lord Vishnu and I seriouslly did not have a clue that speech was about BUTTERFLY EFFECTS and some CHOATIC shit. Maybe the time has come when OUR movies will also be compared to those extremely confusing english films where you dont understand what the hell is going on but still you get the final picture. While I agree in theory that replacing inefficient home appliances with efficient ‘Energy Star appliances’ is an program for the United States government to However, how reliable is this program? With the ‘cash for appliances’ program in full gear it is difficult to find some appliances that are not Energy Star Specifically, as of 2008 79% of all TV sets and 67% of all dishwashers already were Energy Star qualified. Therefore, instead of promoting high-performing appliances, the program now the majority of products in most categories.

there has been speculation on how energy-efficient products that bear the Energy Star label really are. A November 2009 government audit identified many non Energy Star products to be more energy-efficient than many appliances carrying the logo. While there is no doubt that this shift to energy-efficient appliances is a good trend, even the Energy Protection Agency’s inspector general stated that the “EPA cannot be Energy Star products are the more energy-efficient and cost-effective choice for consumers.” Additionally, this audit found that the Energy doesn’t even properly track whether manufacturers have met the required specifications for efficiency. Therefore, many Americans are blindly purchasing appliances with the Energy Star logo believing that these products are the most efficient. When in fact, the Energy Star is becoming nothing more then a façade to help manufacturers ‘brand’ their products in the trendy green movement.

As the market continues to be flooded with Energy Star products, and those appliances bearing the label become even more diluted in value, the DOE should reconsider if $300 million of taxpayer’s money is best spent in rebates for those buying Energy Star appliances. I would also agree that promoting conservation is a better route as well as investing the $300 million into research instead of gambling on products that the EPA isn’t even sure are the most efficient.

Re: Carrick I agree. I have read both papers and have a number of issues:
1) The use of autocorrelation to the real world signal is incorrect. The real world signal clearly has structure, how much will be determined by averaging measured data. The use of autocorrelation inflates intervals' (Santer et al term) and it means you are imposing a linear trend on the data which is not correct without some stated assumptions.
2) The fact that models cannot match ENSO variations even to some degree says to me the models are not good enough. Using increased CIs (which appears reasonable expect no demoninator in eqn 9) the paper even shows how you can get an anomaly of around 0.5 ± 0.5 (i.e. 100% error). This paper should have been a critique on efficacy of models.
3) Douglas et al does not average out the ENSO oscillations (some only have single runs) so he should be using autocorrelation for consistency (even though this is a wrong method to use)
4) The statement that y0 phi0 + noise in the real world is incorrect (see 2). You CANNOT assume that ENSO is random. This is what is measured. THEORY MUST FIT FACTS
5) In general the skill of a model is how well it predicts more than one For example in plasma modelling using (PIC) codes which are not dissimilar to GCMs, if you get a good agreement with electron temperature but number density and plasma potential are way out the model is declared to have a problem. Why? Because enough is known about plasma interactions that you have an idea of the parameter set and bounds to be used.
All these papers show is that it appears that people in the Climate community are trying to make facts fit their theories. They have already settled on a about the assumptions and the results. Douglas et al and Santer et al are not addressing the fundamental assumptions and methods about how much skill models have in representing measured data and how much parameter variation is needed to achieve this. This is much deeper problem

You get ads regarding music probably because it is mentioned alot in your profile or there any other ads in the database that can relate to you. One change of thought that might help you to see life more positively is not to think that you work hard or waste your life, if you have to work 40 hours a week.
That is nothing, it is a cushy job.
Think of all those laborers in the world, that have to work 60-100 hours a week for much less pay. Think of how hard your grandparents generation had to work and they were not less happy than we are. they had to live through war and rationing etc.
We live in an absurdly rich society where we can spend a lot of idle time on thinking about ourselves. It is not healthy.
Try to spend more time actively, take on some more tasks. Happiness does not come from granting yourself all your wishes but from having accomplished difficult and arduous tasks.

I think your having firewall problems. try turning off firewalls, until u learn to modify them to let IE in its exceptions.

If firewalls are off and still nothing, then try to make SURE your connected to internet. if ur on wifi, use an eithernet cord to plug in and see if its a problem with your wifi.

If your computer still has no internet either through wifi or wired, try to reinstall IE,(download it from another computer and install it to yours.) or just try to use Firefox

If that still doesnt work u might have to try reinstalling the drivers for your wifi device.

If all fails……. then its a problem with your computer, (hardware wise) proabaly the wifi card.

Open your Internet Explorer then go to Tools>>Internet Options. Go to the “Connections “ tab and click on “LAN settings”. Uncheck all tacks and then click “OK”. This would only fix your problem if a broken proxy server was set. Check for malware that could have hijacked your browser and set its own settings. You can use Ad-Aware to do this. You might also want to reset your browser if these things did not fix your problem. To do this open your Internet Explorer then go to Tools>>Internet Options and navigate to the “Advanced” tab. The “Reset…” button is found at the bottom.
